Audio Bible 2

A Native American made the following observation about Daylight Saving Time, “it is like cutting the top off a blanket and sewing it to the bottom in the false belief it makes the blanket longer.” Almost everyone is guilty of subscribing to this notion in these fast-paced times we live in today, and our spiritual well being suffers because there is not even time to sit down and read the Scriptures. The audio bible is an ideal way to bring Gods Word back into your life.

Although there may not be time to sit down and read The Bible, there are numerous ways to fit the spoken Word into your busy life and the spiritual benefits are incalculable. If you regularly use a home or work computer you can listen to Bible passages during your lunch break or when you get home. What better way to take the stress out of driving than to listen to the inspirational reading of The Bible while on the way to or from work? Many who have made it a daily routine to reconnect with God have found it something to look forward to for a brief escape from the rest of the hectic day. Once you make it a daily routine, you will find it difficult to do without the spiritual benefits.

There are several formats of the Bible available to fit your needs and lifestyle, such as the CD, MP3 and even DVDs. Audio dramatizations of the Bible have also risen in popularity along with dramatic recordings of books and novels. The importance of The Word is accomplished through inflections in the voice, emotions and sound effects, bringing a level of inspiration to the listener.

The audio Bible is just the answer for those who are burdened with time constraints. We owe it to ourselves to allow time for reflection, meditation and prayer through Bible study. By choosing a passage to listen to that is of interest, or relevant to you, the spiritual benefits will help you to cope with the present circumstances in your life. You can also listen to a particular favorite or choose a chapter or book that you have an interest in reviewing. Many Bible study groups are now using this new technology to help their group increase the benefits of learning the scriptures.

The audio Bible is a perfect way to incorporate Gods Word into our time challenged lives so that we can benefit from the spiritual nurturing that is so necessary in these stressful times.

Audio Bible 1

In todays fast-paced world, most everyone is trying to fit 28 hours into every day. As a result, we are all plagued with a nagging feeling at the end of the day that we have somehow overlooked something that should have been accomplished, which only serves to increase our stress level. Christians know there is relief to be found in Gods Word but few have the time to sit down and read The Book. The answer to this problem is the audio bible.

Studies show that most adults have not read a book since they left High School and many others simply have too many distractions to give their full attention to reading. Now that the Bible is available in digital format, individuals who would otherwise miss the inspirational messages to improve their spiritual health can now take the Bible with them thus, making it possible to expand their spiritual growth. Audio books have been a mainstay for the disabled but they are becoming more popular now that most everyone seldom has the time to a read book.

The King James Bible is now available for download to your iPod, iPhone, computer, MP3 players and there are CDs and DVDs available as well. It is a fact that a good portion of every day is spent waiting for something or someone, being stuck in traffic during our commute, doctors appointments, picking up children, etc. Instead of spending that lost time worrying about what is still left on your to-do list, you can access the amazing beauty and knowledge that comes from an understanding of God’s Word by listening to an audio Bible.

This would also be a wonderful gift for anyone who has impaired vision or is unable to attend regular church services. Imagine how thrilled they would be to have Gods Word easily accessible in their home through the spoken medium.

The inspirational audio Bible can be incorporated into any busy life with a minimum amount of effort, even during a walk or while exercising at the gym. Regardless of which medium you chose, the benefits of bringing Gods Word back into your life will improve your spiritual well being.

Audio Bibles Released For Large, Small Groups

Faith Comes By Hearing, the worlds foremost Audio Bible ministry, recently released Audio Bibles in five more languages.

The following Audio Drama New Testaments are now available for ministry purposes:

Gitonga Mozambique
Izere Nigeria
Quechua San Martn Peru
Waiwai (UaiUai) Brazil
Chinese Mandarin (Studium Biblicum) China

These new offerings represent more than 873 million people on three continents. Faith Comes By Hearing now has 424 Audio Scripture recordings available in 359 languages. Nearly 400 of these Audio Bibles are available for free online Bible download.

The size and location of the people groups represented varies dramatically; the Chinese Mandarin, with its 870 million speakers, are located across the globe, and the Waiwai, which has 2,000 speakers, reside in the northern Amazon jungle basin.

First Brazilian Indigenous Language
The Waiwai Audio Drama New Testament is Faith Comes By Hearings first indigenous Audio Bible recording in Brazil.

Brazil has 258 tribes, and almost as many different languages235. More than 90 of these tribes are cut off from the outside world, living deep in the rainforest and firmly protected by the Brazilian government. Out of these 258 tribes, only 20 have strong, indigenous church leadership; but there are more than 35 indigenous languages with a New Testament translation ready for recording.

Low Literacy and Bible Engagement
Some of the people groups represented by these Audio Bibles have significantly low literacy rates.

For example, among those who speak Quechua San Martn, only 10% of the people can read their own language. In Nigeria, among Izere speakers, a mere 1% can read. To these and similar people groups, the truths and hope of Scripture are locked away in the written form.

Morgan Jackson, Faith Comes By Hearings international director, said these statistics show the great need for Gods Word in a format people can useaudio.

Faith Comes By Hearings mission is to record the New Testament in 2,000 languages and to start 1.8 million Bible listening groups by 2016 to reach the 50% of the world who cannot read and live in deep poverty.

Audio Bibles for Poor and Illiterate People
Jackson said one of the first stories that captured his heart and highlighted the need for Audio Bibles for poor and illiterate people came from missionaries who distributed Spanish printed Bibles in Mexico.

“One of the missionaries on this trip looked over and saw a woman sitting on a bench with the Bible open on her head,” he said. “She was just sobbing, so the missionary sat beside her, and through her tears, he tried to get her to explain what was wrong. She kept sobbing, and finally told him that she couldnt read. She told him she knew that in that book were the words of life for her and her family. She said she was praying for God to take those words from the pages and put them into her heart.”

From remote, rugged locations to thriving urban centers, this story is common. Half the worldroughly three billion peopleis unable to read.

“All over the world theres a hunger to use these recordings because so many of the people dont read,” Jackson said. “Please help us reach the poor and illiterate people with Gods Word in audio.”
